Creating a balance between site use, and the protection of fragile
habitats
We are currently working with Diversity
as part of a development team to create an ecology-led masterplan
for Bedford River Valley Park: a 860 hectare site to the east
of Bedford currently used for gravel extraction and agricultural
pasture.
We are producing a plan for the restoration of gravel pits and
the creation of flood plain forests, which encourage public
access. This includes new recreational facilities, incorporating
an Olympic rowing lake facility for the region.
Work consists of:
- Site Analysis
- Masterplanning
- Phasing of a long-term project
- Promoting Funding Opportunities
- Public Consultation Exercises
- Creating Educational and Recreational Facilities
- Habitat Creation
- Nature Conservation
- Large Scale Woodland Planting and Natural Regeneration
- Land Restoration Programme
